Topic: repetier host , is cooling between layers possible ?

I am printing a small cylinder about 4mm wide and 20mm tall. it seems to start off printing and then a melting occurs near the 5th layer and higher until its just a sloppy mess. I have a cooling fan running but the small surface area means the plastic never cools between layers.

is there a setting in repetier host to allow move the print head off the part for a few seconds to cool before going on the next layer ? or is there a way to do it in Slic3r ?

thanks for any help.

Yes, it is possible just go to slicers config under filament settings/cooling.

Ignore the last post I was going from memory... Thought it was there??? anyways another way is to put a regular delay in the gcode to recur at layer changes.

goto slicers config/printer settings/custom g-code/Layer change G-code and add a G4 (ms) where ms is the time in miliseconds you want to delay.
you could also add gcodes to move the head away and back in the same area and it will place them in the gcode at every layer change.

Maybe try to print a few things at once, scatter them around, get the extruder moving.
