I am thinking of building a rip-rap printer and have found this aluminum t bar( it is called  80/20) to make the frame

Yup, 80/20 is some good stuff. Can source it here in Australia too with it cut to size etc cause I'm lazy. Used it for a few projects and it integrates well with a lot of the other extruded profiles around - from memory there is even couplings on thingiverse to mate it with MakerSlide (another *excellent* choice for integrated frame/railing/slide solutions)
