Hi guys, yesterday i received a solidoodle 3 , i followed the instructions but i have a lot of problems.
When i start a print or i click on the axis home button the extruder go in the right corner of the printer making a noise because it's blocked by the frame with the motor that is still running. I tried with the solidoodle 2 settings and with the solidoodle 3 that i found here: geekbeat.tv/solidoodle-setup-and-tutorial/. Someone can help me? Thanks
Is it going to the front right or the back right? Is it crashing in the Y direction or the X direction? If it is going back and right, the endstop switches are supposed to make it stop. If you run it to the right and push the X switch with your finger, does it stop? Same for the Y switch?
It's going on the back right corner (the side with the spool) if i try to move it return in the same corner with the motor still going on, like if the home axis that i set are bigger than the build area. Maybe a video can be helpful?
If you hit the Home button (the house) and it goes to the back right corner and tries to keep going, then one of the endstop switches isn't working. You can test it by pressing the switch while the extruder is moving toward it to see if the extruder stops. The X switch is on the right side "slider" and the Y switch is on the frame at the back left. You can also check if they are connected to the board. The end stops are the white plugs on the right side of the electronics.
Ok, the y switch is working without any problems, if i press manually the x switch when the extruder is moving it stops, but when i start a print there is the same problem on the x. Maybe the motor power on the switch isn't enough than my finger?

If you turn off the motors and slide the extruder to the right, is there anything keeping it from hitting the switch? Does the thumbscrew with the spring stick up far enough to hit the frame?

If you hit X home, does it act differently from just using the right arrow? There is a setting in firmware to only use endstops when a homing command is given. I wonder if that is what is happening.
If i click on the right arrow (100 mm when the extruder it's near the frame) and he reach the limit, the motor is still trying to go.
And what happens if you press the X Home button (the little house)?
If i press the x home button he do the same noise in the video but after that it complete it's virtual movement it stops, i want to try a print also with the initial big noise.
ok after the initial noise, it started to print but the filament don't stick up to the platform. what's the correct temperature of the platform?

Yes, Although I can see the switch in your video... it looks like it is being activated??? how far do you push switch by hand before you hear click sound? Mine is about 75 percent movement before click is heard.
I run my heated bed at 95C to 100C usually at 95C for most things, after prints starts I lower to 90C-93C
Ok, now i can print unfortunatley there is still the switch problem, if i move it manually i can't hear any clicksound. How long the platform need to reach 95 C? After a long time it was on 82 C and it was stable without warm up. And last question i have a little piece of filament still inside the extruder if i press the button to extrude or reverse it without a print project it doesn't move because it's little and under the piece that grab the filament how i can remove it to install my filament? Thanks guys for everything up to now.
Guys, i don't know how remove the last little piece of filament inside the extruder, someone can help me please? This piece is under the little wheel that push it so it can't grap the filament for extrude or reverse it. And if i put inside a new filament the old can't be pushed by the new because it isn't centered but moved laterally.
I opened the extruder and removed the old filament, now it's working.
I've found that if I cut the filament off square and then push the new filament up against this cut edge while advancing the extruder you can usually push things right on through. I've only had things curl out of alignment once in about a dozen times. When that happened I removed the tensioning spring, washers, and nut, and swung the pinch wheel out of the way and used a paper clip to push the old filament on through.
