Remaining Slic3r problem

Everything working fine, almost through first reel of ABS ( lot of stuff). Remaining problem is that the setting to finish individual parts is simply ignored. Does it work for anyone? What distance settings?
I would like to make (say) 4 objects about 1 inch diam cylinders 2 in tall, and it skips from one to another rather than finishing each one. I can slice each one and append the Gcode in a text editor, but this is too clumsy.
