I just wanted to share an awesome open source printer design that I saw on Thingiverse. I am really impressed with the effort that got put into this and I just think that it deserves some love. This is going to be my next build project.

SD3 w/ mods:
Glass bed with QU-BD heat pad upgrade, threadless ballscrew w/ 8mm smooth rod, spectra line belt replacement, lawsy MK5 extruder, Lawsy replacement carriage, E3D hotend, Ramps 1.4 w/ reprap discount controller, DRV8825 drivers, 12v 30A PS, Acrylic case, Overkill Y-idlers, Filament alarm, Extruder fan + more.

I looked at the thiniverse page . Very impresive enginering seems well thought out and well documented.

The total on the bill of materials is around $1400 usd  so these are not cheap printers but if one has the time to build fro  scratch and the budget go for it.
