Topic: Davinci mini extruder temp

I got my mini last week. Brand new to all of this. I tried to search this issue but I couldn't find it. It seems the max temp I'm getting is 179 C. Even if I set higher. When the machine initially warms up, the temp shows on my computer dashboard going up to 212C but then settles back down to the 179C temp for the print. I run a macbook, I saw there were solutions for this with a wondows platform. Anyone have any tips on how to get my temp up a bit? I think that may be my issue with layers not sticking as well as they should.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you running a stock machine? The issue is that unless you can over ride the temp in the NTAG on the cartridge, the preset temp stored in cartridge which is what you are seeing will be set before each print. Sounds like you need one of the many apps discussed here that allows you to reset and change the values in the NTAG.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Davinci mini extruder temp

Since the mini and Jr use the same filament, I'm assuming the extruders are the same (or similar).  On my Jr, black and neon green filament both run up to 212, then settle down to around 206 to 210 or so.  The natural filament runs up to around 200, then settles down to between 190 and 200.  If your machine isn't lowering the temp (especially with natural), it may need to be checked.  Is it running the latest firmware?  If not, perhaps try upgrading the firmware.
