Topic: Davinci RAMPS Conversion - Fan Controls

I am a little confused with the fan controls on the RAMPS board.

I am now assuming that the 'FAN' connection is truly for a shroud fan or something blowing directly on the currently printing layer...

The Davinci Extruder also comes with a ?heatbreak? fan or whatever you want to call it to keep the filament just above the extruder cool.

How do you guys connect your fans?  Do you just run the heatbreak fan all of the time, then connect your shroud fan up to the fan output near the heater outputs?

Thanks!

The heat break fan should run all the time. The layer fan can run all the time or can be controlled where it does not run during the first few layers just to add in adhesion if it is an issue.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
