Topic: Stepper Part Blac edition & X3?

I know my problem is Y A4988 on my SD2
I searched some on line but they all require soldering? Anyplace sell them ready to go?

Also I looked at Ian X3 deal what features types do I need to match to the SD2 (pinout connections there are 4 options)

I am thinking swap with a black edition board does this help

Then if another one goes is there a benefit to buying a $100 X3 board for less heat better current load and just swap over all my current SD2 parts? they all plug in or I need new items like motors or stepper boards?

Are there any benefit to getting better stepper motors (like ones that handle higher speeds and accuracies?)

Also what is better or/and cheaper the Ramps 4 or X3 any good links?
and again I assume with eitehr I swap my steppers out and wie my connectors up to knew board, load firmware and I am good to go

but is it worth it if not broken yet? faster? more reliable, quality?

The sure steppers at Panucatt.com are assembled and compatible the Azteegs RAMPS and Sanguinololu.  Get one of those and see if it solves your problem before deciding to replace the whole board.
