^_^ the outer casing of the printer works fine. I'm sorry he doesn't like it.
Liar. The case sold by SD does impede normal operations. I've had filament line snapped while using your case and through hole in normal position at least 5+ times as well as normal clogs; none since removing it or using it on standoffs.
Your replies make you appear like pompous idiots at best...never offering insight to a fix...just insultingly simple responses. Seriously you can go fuck yourself...your email correspondence yesterday were a joke and very disrespectful...the attempts to play the ignorance card (you had to have read the detailed complaint I filed with the BBB) and force me into unrecorded phone call were laughable...I am sure the BBB will find your handling very ineffective and insufficient and they can notify any authorities to safety abuses...from were I stand I'm sure that C rating will slip even further and much much further if anyone else who has complained here would take the appropriate steps as I have done to receive compensation for faulty equipment... it that interferes with normal operations...as the representative the SD support I find you pointless as you've never have offered any real insight to fix anything...you should be fired and replaced with someone who actually has half a brain. I see plenty complaints and nothing but pictures and attempts by SD to leave the US market. (It's obvious that this product does not meet any US regulatory electronic quality standards...it clearly does not hold one single certification and nothing has been done to prove it's safety in anyway, despite it's mass manufacture)...have a good day lol.
I'm really sorry you feel this way. Raffaele (our customer experience director!) is working on your case with the BBB right now. He just wanted to chat with you on the phone. No cloak and dagger stuff, we promise! His only job is to help customers, and I'm sure he just wanted to know the best way to make you happy.
As for the case, people seem to like it. It's not easy to load filament with it on, but it can be done (yes, we realize it is far easier to just pull the case off.) I don't think there has been much in the way of complaints over the value. Heck, we've even had lots of requests for a case for the S3. People are sad we didn't make one.
As for offering insight, I just want to remind you that we are a close sourced company. There is only so much we can reveal. We also don't want to foster speculation, so we prefer to simply take parts in for repair rather than get into lengthy debates over the true failure of a part. This may seem simplistic, but it works very well for speedy recovery. That said we are always open to direct questions!
Was there a particular Solidoodle related concept you wanted cleared up? Sometimes we are surprised what people ask. The majority of our "hard-core" users (who make up most of the forum) are very familiar with 3D printing and recognize the very common concepts used in the Solidoodle 3D printer. There really isn't anything too insanely complicated to explain on a daily basis. In fact, if anything I see people making the printer seem far more complicated than it needs to be.
That said, there are times when the answer is complicated. People sometimes answer questions that might take a lot of technical background to fully answer.
Sadly, sometimes the answer to the questions is: It's really complicated! The Z axis banding issue is just one such case. The Solidoodle user community is filled with brilliant engineers, product designers, and software experts. Solidoodle LLC has it's fair share of bright creative minds as well. I think the current stand-still with the issue (with the firmware mod, and the backlash being the best improvements) shows that is just a huge challenge to fix cheaply. Instead of focusing our energy on explaining the cause of the problem (which we are investigating!) we are focusing energy on solving it.
Solidoodle isn't at all interested in leaving in leaving U.S market. We just have lots of friends around the world who want the Solidoodle printer! People are very, very excited to be Solidoodle distributors. This is simply our way of helping out our partners in the east, and in South America.
I'm sorry you're not happy with us, but we are dedicated to helping you out. If you get in touch with Raffaele, I'm sure he'd be happy to clear up any concerns you have over Solidoodle and the Solidoodle 3D printer.
