Topic: Customizable 3D Printers

Hey guys,
I'm toying with a new concept-- what would you guys think of a service that allows users to customize prosumer FDM printers based on their needs. That way, they get their mostly-ideal machine without paying for anything they don't want to pay for. I've been looking for something of the sort but haven't managed to find anything.

Any thoughts?

Such a service would end up costing much more than building your own or modding an existing printer. It would not be economical.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

I like the idea. I have an Utimaker 2 that I upgrade with an e3d kit, and it would have been nice to buy and e3d version of the UM2 from the start.

Ulitmaker 2, a few repraps, Custom Big FFF 3D printer with heated chamber.
