Topic: Printer Nozzle Broken, Can I buy just the Nozzle?

I have a Da Vinci 1.0 printer and one time while printing, the entire nozzle got encapsulated in the melted filament. When trying to get all the plastic off, one of the tiny wires on the nozzle came off. I soldered it back and it worked for awhile but it came off again. XYZ has the entire assembly for $99. but I only need the nozzle. I have an email to them to see if they will sell me just the nozzle but in the mean time, I was wondering if I can buy/use one of the many nozzles that I see on Ebay or Amazon for like $10 to $20?

Has anyone tried to use a nozzle from another company on a Da Vinci 1.0 printer.
If so, which one did you use?
I may give it a try anyway if I don't get any answers.
Any information will be appreciated.

There is no picture. But the wire in question is your thermistor or heater and they themselves can be replaced. The nozzle is part of the heat block and cannot be replaced. If you wish to go the full hotend route you are better off doing an E3D conversion.

I'm not sure that you can replace the wires on this one. They seem to be molded into the brass nozzle.
Can you point me into the direction of the E3D conversion.

The following is the one I was thinking of purchasing and trying, I believe it's a Hotend nozzle:

They are secured in the nozzle by a sealant that can be picked out and the screw on the top of the brass section. The bulb of the thermistor is inside there if both wires have broken then you could remove the screw and just drill it out since the thermistor is mostly glass.

Carl, or anyone else,
Any idea which type of thermistor the Da Vinci 1.0 takes? XYZPrinting seem to go out of their way to hide specs like that.
I guess I could try a J-head type? That one seems to be most prevalent when I search but, I do see other types.

Someone also told me I might be able to solder the ends together and epoxy it into the hole but now that you said it was glass, I'm questioning that.
Any thoughts?

If you are considering buying a new hotend altogether, do yourself a favor and consider an E3D.
