Topic: New Printer and Newbie at 3D Printing!

Hi,
Sorry to be asking a question on my first post. I have just received today my new DaVinci 2.0A Duo printer. I am experienced with CNC having a laser cutter.

I setup the printer as instructed and did not calibrate the bed, again as instructed. Having set a test item going the white filament in the RH extruder curls up off the bed when it lays down the straight line before printing commences. I manually pulled the waste filament away and the job completed fine.

What would cause the white filament to curl up and away from the bed please?

Many thanks in anticipation, hopefully one day I can give something back to the forum.

Kind Regards - John

You actually do usually need to calibrate, but not using the built in method. Use the manual method that is stickied in the Da B
Vinci section of the forum. If you went and picked one up from their factory it may not need calibration. But shipping and the fact the values the built in system wants are wrong, mean you DO need to cal contrary to what the manual says.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Well I did the levelling as suggested and it seems to have worked.

Thank you for your help, I'm sure I'll be back before long.
