Topic: My extruder randomly cooked itself this morning....
Anyone else have this problem? I connected it to Repetier, set the bed temp to 94 C, walked away BRIEFLY, came back and discovered my extruder head had melted.
No connection problems, both temps were off, and both temps were actively reading temperatures. The bed was slightly warm.
This must be a software problem, right? I've never had it happen throughout the past 4 months during which I've owned it.
So, some of the fail safes worked, but some didn't. I am confident that I did not turn on the extruder heater (nor raise its temp). So, don't leave your 3D printer alone while it is on!!
The adhesive is what melted. Can I fix this with commonly available hardware materials???
