Help. My screen has gone blank. We have replaced the cable and the screen itself. The printer is still making noises when you press the buttons but the screen does not even light up. We are not able to print anything. Any ideas?
I am not a DaVinci user, but it sounds like:
1) LCD connector to the board are loose/have a broken wire
2) The LCD is busted
3) The LCD is functional, but the backlight is way down to the point you cannot see the controls
4) The firmware on the board itself is fudged (most likely)
Can you control or move an axis?
Your post makes us suspect that it used to work, but no longer does, which would be a board problem if you have replaced the screen and wires.
Can you elaborate? Please be specific as every detail may count.
I have replaced both the lcd and cable. Nice tight connections on both ends. Upon startup the hot endl will re home itself. Im not sure if I can more the other axis motors, because I cant see the screen to to get to the spot when I can manually move them. Ive een trying to find a video of how to get to there so I can try without needing the lcd screen. I have inquired about a new board from xyz and the want 100 plus shipping and the month it takes just for them to ship it out. Xyz wants 60 an hour for them to troubleshoot it. Thank you for the help.
Is it no longer under warranty? They should not charge anything for labor if it is.. Have you flashed it with Repetier or is it still stock?
No, unfortunately the warranty ran out in January. But the firmware is still the factory stock xyz ware stuff.
If you have the LCD disconnected from the board, you may still be able to connect to a computer (citation needed) and regain control.
Absolute worst case scenario, you can gut the board for as little as $30 for a Arduino 2560/RAMPS 1.4, flash without an LCD control and call it a day. For a XYZ, this would mean you would lose the daughterboard and may need to upgrade carriages as a worst case scenario, but it would get you off of the XYZ dependency!
To be honest, I prefer sticking with the xyzware. Nit comouter literate enough to venture into the new firmware. This is where it gets frustrating, I can start it up and try to reload filament, then 5 seconds later, I get a continuous beeb and lights inside flashing until I power it off. I can't tell the error code because of this wonderful lcd screen. I figured wose case, spend the 100 and get new brains and basically have a brand new printer, aside from the steppers. I just rather fix it if I can, but may not be so lucky I suppose. Thank you again for your suggestions

This usually means the SDcard on the motherboard is not seated firmly in it's slot. Open the back and make sure the sdcard is seated well.
I did try that one as well, I took it out and put it in a thumb drive to make sure it wasn't corrupt or anything. Then made sure to push it all the way back in. It clicks in and stays nice and tight
I have the same problem.
I want to know if you solved the problem.
