I have a Flash Forge Creator Pro Clone.
It says in the manual that it can use ABS, PLA, PVA filaments
Would there be any harm in using PETG in this printer even though it doesn't specifically say it can use PETG?
That's fine. PETG pretty much uses the same settings as ABS

you may need to bump the extruder temp up a little if you can. I have a roll of PETG the wants about 243C to print well, while most of my ABS runs 235-237

You know what's odd?
On my particular printer, I am currently printing PETG at 215 with no problem.
Adhesion seems fine. Above 220 I get fine hairs and strings.
I've always suspected my hot end temp is higher than the display temps indicate.
Jagowilson adores PETG and claims it works best with ABS settings more or less. He has experimented with it far more than myself, truth be told.
I typically print a little slower than Jago, which may be why I use settings of a lower temp....I almost get close to my PLA settings, but still mostly ABS
I know manufacturer/manufacturing has a bit to do with it as well.
with the Inland I have - a gorgeous translucent blue, anything less than 240 and it will pull apart like pulling a loose thread on a sweater, not to mention looks really dull, not shiny like it should.
I'm certainly not an authority but on my SD3 I get the best print with a 90c bed and 260c Extruder. I keep trying to dial the heat down but get disappointing results. Yeah, i do get some stringing.

Why dial down? The PETG I use 260 is the lowest limit listed.. I print PETG at 275 to 285.. But, I also use thermocouples and no liner so high temps are not an issue for me..
The highest temperature setting for my printer is 250C
It's eSUN PETG White.
The label calls for 230 - 250C
But it seems to flow just fine at 220 and up.
Flow and bond are two different things. The issue is that PETG and most filaments act like heat sinks as they pass through the extruder. During times of fast feed like infill and such the feed rate exceeds the heaters ability to maintain the temp and so it cools down to where it no longer flows as well or at all. So the idea is to be set a bit higher than what you think flows well to compensate for those moments of demand.

How could I get in touch with him? I'd love to ask him what settings he uses to deal with support material.
My supports are bonding to the object like crazy. Ruins them.
