Topic: Thinking about doing something crazy with my DaVinci 1.0.

I got my DaVinci 1.0 way back in August of 2014 and used it almost non stop till February of 2015 when I go my Flashforge Creator Pro. Since then I don't use the DaVinci as much. I was thinking about modding it and replacing the motherboard with a Mighty Board
http://www.flashforge-usa.com/shop/part … board.html I know I will need to replace the end stops and the hot end. But I should be able to use the stepper motors. I will also replace the heated bed with a better one. I would like to install the Sailfish firmware on it.

Just wandering if this will work or would it be a wast of time?

Link to board fixed.

Carl is your man for this.
At least I'm sure he fitted a ramps board to a Davinci anyway.

Re: Thinking about doing something crazy with my DaVinci 1.0.

I'm  thinking on putting a rumba board in my 1.0a.  It's only $68 bucks and has 6 steppers with the good drivers.  It also has screw terminals. I'm still dickering with XYZ on buying a replacement board for it, but they want a $100 and my old board.. Haven't heard back from them for a few days,, thinking I should just go ahead and start cutting things over.. The Rumba has the option to use thermistors or thermacouples   I believe.
