Topic: X-belt tensioner

Today my X-belt tensioner just snapped on my 1.0A
I have notice that there are a strange clicking sound coming out of the printer, not alot but little when the X-axis moves.

This was the problem. Anyone else had this problem?
The part just falls apart =/

And I dont have alot of printingtime on this printer. just under 100 hours.

Re: X-belt tensioner

This is rather common, although it shouldn't fail under 100 hours.  There are a lot of replacement models on Thingiverse that you can print.

I found it hard to print a replacement when the part was broken hehe. but a friend of mine printed one for me and it seems to work, I have order small ballbearings and going to print the one that can fit those when I have the printer up and running again.

Thougt it was strange that it broke after so few hours =/

Re: X-belt tensioner

If you have it tensioned too tightly then it's probably more likely to break. The belt should be taught and that's it.  Tighter isn't better.

Re: X-belt tensioner

Mine broke  at about 300 hours but I had printed a replacement before then.
if you are not able to get one printed near you, I can print one for you

Re: X-belt tensioner

Mine broke with less than 10 hours on it. My friend printed one out for me and it works great. The first print was to make a spare X belt part.

Re: X-belt tensioner

Same happened here. Fortunately from reading this forum, I had already printed a part in case the original failed.
This one with bearings works great.
