Topic: Trouble with assembly

Received my 2.0 Kit.  Having some trouble with the compression bearing getting compressed ;-)  (I did build the 1.x kit so I know what it should look like)

Tried different solutions as found on forum;

1 spacer and 90mm between end of auger and collar

2 spacers and 84.5 mm between end of auger and collar

Neither works.  Either the bearings are not being compressed (too loose) or they are compressed but too much of the auger extends bast the end of the barrel.

Any thoughts?

TIA

George

Re: Trouble with assembly

With the thrust bearing compressed, how much auger sticks out of the barrel? 2-10mm is OK.

Re: Trouble with assembly

Here are 2 pictures to show you what I see;  DO I just keep moving collar until I get a good balance between compression and tip of auger extension past end of barrel??

1st one - - 84.5 mm from end of auger to collar and 2 spacers;

2nd one - 90 mm from end of auger to collar and 1 spacer;

Re: Trouble with assembly

You absolutely need 2 spacers between the laser cut plate and the chassis. Try 2 spacers there, and one set of spacers between the motor and the chassis. Then set the shaft collar to 84.5mm and measure how much auger sticks out with the thrust bearing compressed.

Re: Trouble with assembly

Putting the 2 spacers between the laser cut plate and the chassis and 1 between the motor and the chassis does compress the bearing and leaves 9 mm of the auger extending out of the tip of the pipe.

Re: Trouble with assembly

That's fine, as it is within the aforementioned 2-10mm.

Hi gibeaug,

I think I am having the same problem, can you post pictures of your assembly with the modification that you mentioned?

Thanks.
