Solidoodle press little quality tweaks?

Hi,
So I finally have my Solidoodle press running pretty good in soliprint.  It pauses itself 4 or 5 times per print but at least it actually prints.  Has anyone found anything that really ups the quality?  My makerbot 2x  prints a perfect part almost every time with very little intervention where my solidoodle fails a part about every 4 parts and the overall part quality cant touch the makerbot parts.  Do I really gain anything going over to rep host again?
