Topic: WTB your broke pieces/trash/mess ups!

Hey everyone, I just ordered a new solidoodle a few weeks ago and I am now setting up finishing techniques and need a few samples to prepare the pros/cons of each before I get the printer. I dont really care what the object is or was, the only request I have is at least 2 objects printed in .1mm and .3mm. ABS, PLA, and Laywood are preferred.

I will be posting the results online for everyone to see. I will be testing a sealed acetone vapor box first, then vapor dipping, then possibly using a nebulizer to mist it on the parts. If I have enough pieces, Ill do some hand sanding vs sand blasting stuff as well.

I live near Tampa, Florida and will be paying through paypal. Please PM me for any questions.

To save yourself some money and time, do a search for those items here, it's been tried and tested already by several.  There's one called presto part finisher that seems to work well.

Check out this blog it has most of the stuff documented already.

Vapor seems to be the way to go, sanding is tricky and sandblasting has been seeing the best results with walnut shells because the rest of the media is too large.  I've tried hobby sandblasting with a can of compressed air and an airbrush but that didn't touch it.

If you just want to play I'm sure someone will sell you some scrap pieces.

I've got a box you can have for cost of shipping.

Yea I have seen that post, I plan on doing something similar or with a hot plate. I am looking to document in a bit more detail on how much, how long, and such. I have even built a photobox to get some real good close up pics to compare. And yes, trash pieces are perfect smile
