Topic: CTC - display reads heating even though temp reads ok?

Hi people who are more experienced at this than me....

I finished a 16 hour print last night and this morning tried to set off another smaller print this morning. The monitor says heating but the temp it reads is the temp it is supposed to get to. The settings haven't been changed since the last print.

I am using a CTC dual extruder model with mk9 extruders. The right extruder has had problems in the past and so I am exclusively using the left extruder while I wait for a mk10 extruder upgrade to arrive.

I have tried powering it down to cool off and starting again.

EDIT: The printer seems to work anyway as long as it i left for long enough to let the heating time out... Still I'd like to resolve the issue as I don't want to have niggling problems which cause bigger problems later.

Welcome to some of the flaws I found with the mightyboards. Now you see why I switched to a Repetier/Marlin based controller.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

Is the upgrade complex or expensive? I think I saw a thread where you described it and thought it might be a bit beyond me.

The board and LCD and stepper drivers will run you around $250. As for being complicated? Just swapping wires. The hard part, setting up the firmware I have done for you. I can even supply the connections as well. Deill a few extra holes in the body. Yours being wood will be a breeze.

Thanks, I think I'll just do the extruders for now. If the mightyboard doesn't hold up then I'll go for it, but this started off with me thinking £300 was cheap for one of these things. I could easily go too far. The extruders, two spare nozzles, a thermocouple and PTFE tube is going to be another £160, plus about the same again for a new board and bits.
