Topic: Nozzle hitting the bed when print starting

The nozzle keeps knocking into the print bed when I start a print and will do it after a print is done. It does it when it cleans the nozzle on that metal piece right before it goes to prints. When its going back and forth, it goes to far over and hits the bed. Support says its a problem with the x axis. Can anyone help??

Re: Nozzle hitting the bed when print starting

My son's 1.0 AiO is now having the same problem.  We did the bed-leveling procedure and got it in place, but for some reason, when it cleans the nozzle before printing it clips the glass bed and the nozzle has left a scratch in the glass down the purge bead area.

I'm still looking through the forum to see if there is an answer to this issue.

The built in leveling method is faulty.. You need to use the manual method that is a sticky in the XYZ section.

Also make sure the X axis sensor is seated well in it's mount. That is the sensor on the right end of the X axis when looking at the front of the printer...

Re: Nozzle hitting the bed when print starting

Its not that your bed is un-level, its that your z offset is set  to  close to the bed.  Bed calibration does not address that issue.   Run the z-offset calibration, and use a business card to get the distance between the bed and extruder nozzle right.  The manual and youtube videos show using two sheets of paper, but its too close for printing at .3mm for me.
