Topic: Da Vinci 1.0 Print Problems - Gaps, Uneven

I have had some problems recently with my Da Vinci 1.0.  I purchased two ABS cartridges that have been giving me problems.  When I print something, there are obvious gaps.  They do not look very nice.  I am testing my three cartridges which includes the two new problematic ones and one I never had problems with but have not used since I got the two.  I am also calibrating before and after each print.  I printed a coin sorter that was three separate pieces and afterwards the calibration test failed.  I do not know how this would have happened because any movement from the cleaning was done in the same way they told me to.  I will attach pictures of the test prints when they are done and update the post.

Update 1:
I printed a piece and it has some obvious deformities.  After I printed it I also calibrated the printer.  Before the print it was as follows:  245, 235, 245.  And after: 055, 215, 245.  Why would the first measuring point lower so far?  The table it is on has a very slight wobble.  Could that cause it to loosen when printing?

Update 2:  I have no idea what is going on.  After cleaning the print bed for the second test print with the other cartridge I did a calibration measurement.  And what do you know. it was successful.  So it went from 245, 235, 245 (before first print) to 055, 215, 245 (after first print) to 055, 215, 245 (after cleaning).  This is frustrating.

Update 3:  I cannot believe I did not notice this before.  I attached the before and after slicing photos of the model I am printing.  As you can see, they differ greatly and it is printing the post-sliced one.

I use to have those gaps in prints. I really think its the poor quality of XYZ filament. I now use a resetter and 3rd party filament and no longer get gaps in the ABS prints.

The only reliable and actually good XYZ filament is natural. That was some of the best stuff I have printed with. Colorants have a major impact on filament performance. Unless you just must have color try natural. There is always the option of painting once done.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Is it possible that your filament has absorbed moisture?  I've seen similar prints from filament that was opened and sat in a humid environment.

A big Rubbermaid container with silca to store your filament is a worthwhile investment.

You can test this if you have an oven with good heat regulation by putting your filament in your oven @200F for a few hours, and seeing if things improve.
