Topic: Hello!

Hello Soliforum!

A little about me: I am 28 years old, middle of 7 children. Grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I obtained an AAS in electronics engineering technology. I now live and work in the west suburbs of Chicago.

I am a volunteer with the University of Illinois extension office in Dupage/Will/Kane counties. We are looking to create a makers space for youth in our area. An administrator in the office made a purchase of several solidoodles (the original model) before I got involved. We've had a lot of trouble (pc doesn't even find the solidoodle). I am hoping to find the help I need to get these going since we're kinda stuck with these for the time being.

Re: Hello!

Only one post is needed, but hello anyways. If you have an issue I would suggest posting in the section for that printer as you are more likely to have people see and address it.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

Re: Hello!

You have come to the right place, have a search and you'll find the answer.  Post a question in the correct section for a more prompt response.  Carl is correct about multiple posts even if it isn't something you do intentionally, always read your post after submitting it and delete multiples when they occur.  This makes our jobs much easier and frees us up to help you with your exact problem.
To your question I would start by ensuring you have the proper driver installed on your PC and that it is showing up in device manager once connected.

Re: Hello!

I figured it out. Rookie error.

My printer is a solidoodle 1,so iI assumed that selecting  solidoodle 2 would not work, and that default would be the best option in repetier host. Default defers to an incorrect baud rate. Changing baud rate to 25000 established connection.
