Topic: delta hotend pendulum affect?

I'm leveling my bed..  and the middle of my bed is .5 higher than the perimeter and the perimeter is <.2 difference all the way around...  I checked the flatness of the bed and that's good..  first time I have been stumped with my build

Thanks in advance

Re: delta hotend pendulum affect?

When you level on a delta the proper process is to lower the head to exact center and level that point first. The using the jog controls move the head towards each adjuster using a combination of x and y moves. Once the head is near the adjuster, adjust that spot. Then repeat with the other two. Once done with all three move back to center and verify if still level. If not move each adjuster the same amount to bring the center to be level.

I did the adjustments. I adjusted the bed level to the head, then moved to the adjusters.. but the center moved up also..  I can see the head move closer to the bed as I near 0,0..  then lift(?) off the bed as it heads to the other side..

Then your rod lengths are wrong or your data for rod length and effector distance from tower is wrong in the firmware. The head should move level at all times you will see the slider move down on one side while the other moves up to keep the head level across the bed.

Re: delta hotend pendulum affect?

Thanks carl.. I will recheck the measured distance and the firmware..  and will up date this post.

Re: delta hotend pendulum affect?

The firmware and actual distance were off 2mm... In the head to linear rail dimension (Factory 178, Actual 176)... The classic operator error...  Thanks carl_m1968
