Topic: Belt tensioning.
So I'm having a problem similar to what others are reporting with circles printing more like ovals. While looking I notice that one of the two y axis belts.... on the right..... has some slack in it. Specifically when the "carriage" (haven't figure out all the terminology yet) moves forward the back lower portion of the right belt slacks a bit. When the "carriage" runs towards the back the slack is again taken up. Could this be causing it. I've read the various articles on checking the other axis, counting the teeth and how to tension that... but nothing on how to tension THIS belt.
All the rods seem parallel best I can tell, not sure how to check with GREAT precision, but a tape measure at both ends looks right. They don't appear warped.... again not sure the BEST way to check this but a metal straight edge says they look ok at a quick glance.
So really I'm just wondering:
Would the slack in that one belt matter?
and
How do I tension it?
Thanks!
