Topic: Need opinion on handling with CS at Solidoodle
So Ive had my Press since January this year and have had no successful prints since then. I made the (albeit late) decision to contact support at Solidoodle about my concerns about the Press not printing.
Now to give a bit of background about the purchase, my press was original a gift and the one who preordered it for me, purchased it in August and through the numerable delays and announcements from Solidoodle, the purchaser made complaints every time about there delays and Soilidoodle made compromises each time, they said they would take $50 off the original purchase or supply an extra spool of filament, however they gave both. Originally I was under the impression that at the time of purchased they included the 1 year but turned out it was not purchased/included.
Fast forward to today, when I contacted solidoodle they informed me that the 60-day warranty had expired but since this was the first time support was being contacted about an issue they were offering to make an RMA for free and they would make the adjustments that were made to their later models to guarantee that their Press was a plug-n-play. The only thing is that I would have to pay for shipping. So far where I have received quotes to ship it its going to cost me nearly $200 w/ insurance. My buddy keeps telling me to call them after they have issued the RMA and have them cover the shipping, but after all they have done to keep myself as a customer (the $50 off and extra filament) should I really be asking for more?
If I don't I will probably hang on to it and attempt to throw on a MK3 print bed and adhere the PEI I've ordered. If still unsuccessful I'll probably sell it and go a different route.
