Afraid not.
It is a very good piece of software though and the new update sounds awesome.
I was reluctant to part with that much cash too but I'm glad I did.

Re: Simplify3D v3.0 available !

I know everyone that has it says nice things about it, but I just cant bring myself to spend that kind of money on something I cant try out. Kind of like buying a pair of shoes - need to try them on before buying them to make sure they fit me and my needs....

Re: Simplify3D v3.0 available !

Totally get where you're coming from.
I don't know why they don't offer a trial version. I'm sure most people would buy a full license after trying it.

Re: Simplify3D v3.0 available !

well, yeah... if it is that good a short trial period - say 10-14 days - should be enough to convince people to buy it. Seems to me they would sell more if they did offer a trial. I know there have to be others like me that wont buy without being able to try it first.

I actually just sent them an email asking why they don't offer a trial... will be interesting to see what the response is.

for the same reason that they put the printers templates in the cloud in this version (from local in the previous version) and need you to be connected to internet each time you want to use it (the 'stay update all the time' is bullshit IMO ... think black flag and white skull...)

Seriously? you have to be connected to the internet to use it now?

Then it is a definite no go for me. Sorry, Our internet service isn't good enough for that out here in the boonies. In the big city that might fly, but us rural people don't have cable internet as an option.

I will be darned if I am going to spend that kind of money on something that has to have an internet connection to run only to have a print fail because my ISP had a momentary brain-fart (which happens a lot).

Re: Simplify3D v3.0 available !

yep.. i'm wrong for the 'always connected' BUT you can't install it on a machine without internet (the first time) ... so my half-fault

it does require an internet connection the first time you install it, but not after that. However, you will need internet access to download updates or new profiles or things like that

Re: Simplify3D v3.0 available !

Ok, that is a bit different. But I still wont spend 150 bucks on something I cant at least try first.

I did email them and ask about a trial, and was told they do offer a money back guarantee, but it has been my experience that those are often hard to implement on something like this. Makes me very wary...
