Topic: Slicer problem or Rep .092 problem?

I am having consistant problems with the bed homing during the start of a print job. Everytime I shut down my pc it seems as if simplify 3d changes the bed z value when trying to print. For example. I leveled my bed to the nozzle tip perfectly and send a print fine. But when I try to print the next day after shutting down the z homes when starting a print and the bed doesn't adjust the height when the extruder starts to move and it drags on the surface of my bed. Then I have to turn of my machine, level the bed to the extruder tip, then restart and its fine. It's so annoying and inconsistent. I have no idea why this happens.

Does this only happen you print from S3D or also when you print from SD card?

Have you set the z offset in the eeprom? I am going to guess no since you have made no mention of using Repetier Host which is the only way to access and change eeprom data. Which is loaded at every power up.

You can change all the eeprom settings on the machine with .92, save and load as well.

I first thought of that too. Setting a z offset in the eeprom, not saving, and turning off the printer will cause the prnter to load the last saved settings when its turned back on. I never turn off my printer, even when manually leveling the bed (unless I am working on changing parts) so I am not sure if this is the cause.

I'll check into it thanks.

Re: Slicer problem or Rep .092 problem?

Also an FYI. Making changes in the firmware like steps per mm and offsets will not change them in the EEPROM after the initial install. Once the EEPROM is written the first time, the only way to make changes is through RepHost and its configuration tab or by m commands through the terminal.

That's strange. I was able to adjust my steps per mm and the values did change on the feed rate of the filament

On my ramps 1.4 eith Marlin firmware I had to use m92 then m500 to get the steps per mm to stay.
