Just a quick note on this;
So go to help in RH and click update....
if he tries to update directly from RH, he will more than likely get V1.0.6 - same version I have. It seems to be pretty stable tho, I havent encountered any major issues with it, other than the old XP computer I am running it on doesnt have enough graphics resources to run the the filament visualizations while printing - solved simply by toggling the "eye" off
@ cf.noja47 - sit back, take a deep breath and let it out slowly - it will be ok.
(and dont feel bad)
to get to the EEPROM screen:
at the top of RH click "Config" then select the "Marlin Firmware EEPROM Settings" - should be about the middle of the list.
If it is greyed out, and you cant actually click on it, there is a shortcut listed next to it - "Alt + E", i think...use that to open the settings screen - I had to use the shortcut the first time I tried to open it, since then it has been available to click on.
the one you want to change is the one that wardjr has highlighted in his screenshot above - top row, far right - it will probably read 138, change it to what was suggested (105) and click "Save to EEPROM"
If for some reason it doesnt work, or you get an error - dont panic. There is another way to change it.
I had a problem trying to change things directly in that screen for some reason, no idea why, so I only use it now to verify things were changed...
Disconnect RH, close it, then re-open and re-connect to clear out any errors.
The alternate method to change the steps/mm for the extruder is to type the following code in the G-Code box at the top of the manual tab in RH
M92 E105 <enter>
then
M500 <enter> to save it
You can then open the firmware settings screen to verify that the change has been made and saved.
