Topic: Virtual Port Problem

Hello guys, I have a solidoodle workbench and I do not know how to connect it. The instructions say to look for com ports, but all I have is "virtual port." What do I do about this problem? I am running windows 8.1. Thank you for any advice.

Did you install the driver? Does it show up in device manager?

Windows 8 requires you to override the Control Panel settings. Something along lines lines of "to allow communication"...this has been discussed on the forum.
A great pain, I know. Such is the curse of Win8.
