Topic: not printing

I just got the new da vinci 1.0 AiO all in one printer.  But having issues printing.  the first time set up follow the instruction an installing the filament cartridge.  Saw the filament come out.  But when I hit a sample print no filament comes out.  I unloaded the filament cartridge and reloaded the filament cartridge still get the samething.  No filament comes out for the print at all.  Not even when I load the cartridge I see any filament come out like when I set it the first time.  What could be the problem?

thanks

Re: not printing

My guess is you nozzle was too close to the bed when you tried to print. So now you have a clogged nozzle. Use the load filament command from the LCD, but just let it heat. Before trying to load it, use the little wire tool the sent you and push through the nozzle a few times. Don't get burned as the nozzle is very hot. The try to actually load and see if any comes out.

If it does I then advise you to run the bed calibration routine and make sure your bed is not too close. The instructions say no to calibrate. But after you have been shipped and dropped and bumped around several thousand miles even you would need to be calibrated. So now think about the printer..

Re: not printing

I was able to get the plastic to come out.  But cannot get it to calibrate I get 195, ERR, ERR.  Cannot get it to calibrate.  Any ideas?

Make sure the contact points are clean, and since you know one is passing just move the extruder by hand over the passing one and measure it with calipers, scale, or ruler from bed to bottom of bars then move it over the other two points and adjust it to the same height then tun the calibration again. Once you get it passing I would suggest using the manual calibration method posted as a sticky in this section. The values the automatic system comes up with are just ball park and most of the time will not allow your object to stick as it should.

Re: not printing

It should be noted that the reason the contact points (three on bed and one on hot end) need to be clean is that the machine detects when the hot end hits the bed contact by passing current. It is essentially a switch. If the contacts are dirty, then the switch isn't in the "on" position.
