Topic: REPETIER HOST file importing

With the "newer" versions it takes a very long time to import fairly large files 10meg+ . With RH ver .085b  it's almost instant. Using Mesh mixer, the same file that I am trying to load in RH (52 meg) it only took 9 seconds. Has anybody noticed this?

SD3, E3D hotend, linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

I switched to Cura for my printer controlling and slicing, but does it really matter how long it takes to load a file or really even to slice it? I mean after all you are still going to be waiting hours for the actual print, maybe even days. I have printed a model that took three days once.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: REPETIER HOST file importing

i think it's because the last version of repetier-host do some checks (normal direction of the polygons/ holes / etc...) of your STL geometry that the 0.85 didn't do... and if your model is big, it take some time ...

see if you can disable this verifications in the prefs or repetier-host...
