Topic: Torture Test results

I ran two tests using Slic3r which are attached at the following settings:

.2mm layer height
70% infill
Standard Slic3r speeds
No supports
230 Head temp
85 Bed temp

I am just wondering if there is anyway of improving the results on the Torture Test? The 'V2' turned out okay just need to measure the dimensions on it.

thing:33902 (I named this Torture Test)
thing:704409 (I named this Torture Test V2)

You need active cooling even for ABS. The smaller areas are staying too hot. When the extruder makes the second pass it is moving them while they are still soft and causing the layers to shift and smudge. On small parts you need active cooling while on large parts you need to inside to be as close to bed temp as possible. If you want the torture test to be better, try removing the sides and have a desk fan blow through the unit. You will still see problems on the side away from the fan but it will be better.
