Topic: solidoodle workbench apprentice calibration

i have been working on this printer for a few weeks now and i am still yet to run a print. whenever the printer starts its auto calibration it goes through all the probing and when it pushes up the probe it doesn't push it up far enough so the extruders are still about 1mm off the print bed. also when the x and y go to the back right corner, the probe isn't far enough up so it gets caught when the extruders move to the middle of the bed to run the print, the probe gets caught on the edge of the bed because the bed is up to far. please help i am only a high school student and simply am not to far into learning coding but I'm always working on the printers. and i have tried everything that i have learned so far from reading these forums but still can't get anything with the auto calibration to work.

You might consider taking a page from the DaVinchi guys and just eliminate the auto bed leveling feature.  Take a look at how the SD 2,3& 4 were set up.  Manual bed leveling is simple and precise.  Auto bed leveling sounds good in theory but is rather impractical in reality.

The process they use will not work for your SD but you can look through the DaVinchi threads.
Just move your endstop switch to the bed frame and mount a bolt adjuster to the frame.  Then remove the auto level sequence from the start code.

it just seems whenever it finishes up the auto calibration it doesn't push the probe. i have found code that works everywhere else except where it tells the bed to get close enough to the extruders to push the probe up all the way. at least that's what i have been picking up from all the material that i have been reading.

I completely understand the issues you're facing.  In the long run you'll discover that the benefits of autolevel don't out weigh the costs.  But it sounds like there is a distance set in the start code that you can set to remedy this situation.  Someone here has covered this and if I find the post I'll provide a link.

thank you so much! its kinda hard to get to sit down and go through all the code to find whats wrong when you only have 2 hours a day to look at it!

I know that feeling I'll try and find a fix or work around for you. 
There are a few of us trying to come up with a nice write up to eliminate the auto level all together.  So I guess for now patience is my only suggestion smile
