Topic: Extruder bangs into back right corner

During the print preparation routine, the extruder backs into the back right corner and makes a loud noise. Since there's a bumper switch in the bottom LEFT corner, I feel the extruder should be trying to go there instead.

I checked the motherboard but noticed the wires can only be connected one way. It seems my printer may be flawed like so many. Any solution?

Sounds like it is looking for home in the wrong direction. could be a simple software setting. What software are you using.

Re: Extruder bangs into back right corner

I am using the newest SoliPrint (for Mac). It does seem like it's not sure where home is. How can I change this?

Not sure if this is possible but might be worth checking, is the plugs to the motors orientated properly, they may be running in reverse?

I feel stupid.

I fixed this issue by following the instructions for "ISSUE:  Grinding noise when moving to the back of the machine."

I only JUST noticed that the black wire was in fact behind the extruder when banging.

You'll need to use a rubber band or something to keep the cable bundle out of the way.  You'll still need to watch out for it occasionally, especially when the to cover is closed.
