Topic: Solidoodle Official Github

Hey all! We at Solidoodle are making an effort to be a little more forward thinking with our software,
and to aid in our catching/killing of Solidoodle related software bugs, we have announced

The Solidoodle Github! May the fanfare erupt.

It can be found at https://github.com/solidoodle

As of tonight, I have forked the standard repos for Printrun,
and Marlin. As as we move forward, this will make it easier for
us to keep track of software developments on both the Software
developer side, and the software end user side.

As of tonight, we have not merged in our Solidoodle specific
versions of the software and the firmware. You should see
that happen in the next few days.

Let us know if you have any ideas.

Regards,
John

I'm a bit surprised that Repetier is not there, but this is great stuff :-)

There's a reason for that:
We are trying our very best to use vanilla, unmodified Repetier for the Solidoodle. If you guys are into the idea of modding out RH for the Solidoodle, we'll fork it for you. RH is a little bit more of a pain to play with since it's compiled. Now that some smart Solidoodler's couldn't figure it out, but we're not quite ready to support people's VS/C#/.net issues. These two are a great place to start because they have some necessary mods for the Solidoodle. I will be merging in our version of Pronterface sometime this week. As a start to operations, I encourage our community firmware modders to start making pull requests whenever they have a chance.

The main reason we are doing this is so software bugs on the Solidoodle can be more effectively tracked and eliminated.

How does the Marlin that Lawsy and others have referenced compare to the Marlin that we would get from the Solidoodle GitHub?

Jon, at the moment it is the wrong Marlin entirely, I was hoping Lawsy would be here to do a merge himself, but I suppose I'll do it he doesn't by the end of the day.

Re: Solidoodle Official Github

Updated Pronterface to our latest version. This allows for all of Kliments latest revisions to the software. Hopefully this mitigates some of the issues we've been seeing in the past here. All of the changes for the Solidoodle are commented with a
#changed for Solidoodle

For easy searching. I still anticipate having to manually key these in every time I merge with Kliment, but perhaps a script can be written to automate this.

If you decide to do work of your own, please add the same comment or something else easily searched to indicate the changes you have made.

A good place to start would be start.gcode - it hasn't been updated in a while, as we have been focusing on the start.gcode for Slic3r.
