Topic: Solidoodle 2 heater problems

My printers will randomly start cooling both the heated bed and the extruder until they reach room temperature.   Anyone know why.  Its weird that both do it despite the heater buttons still showing on.  Both show 0 volts at the board.....once they shut off.   I had the printer at 210c for the extruder and 100c for the bed.

Thanks,
Zach

Does repetier-host show the actual temp as it goes down?

Re: Solidoodle 2 heater problems

Could you have the temps in your slicer set to zero? Normally you preheat using the manual buttons in your host. Once heated you start the print. At that point slicer settings will override manual settings. If higher it will raise them and wait till they are reached before printing. If lower it again will wait till it cools. In your case the temps could be set to zero in slicer. Only thing that makes sense since both machines do it.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Not set to zero in slic3r.  I can get most of the way through a job.  And its random when it does it.

Setting temps to zero in slic3r just tells slic3r not to worry about/adjust the temps, mine is set to zero for both 1st layer and other layers and I have no problems maintaining temps that are set manually.

There is something else going on...

MAX/MINTEMP, faulty thermistor wiring.

Re: Solidoodle 2 heater problems

I've read a similar case where the power supply was at fault for causing sudden temp shutdowns.
