Topic: Da Vinci head options

I recently had the heating element's wires break off the head and I am wondering what my options are.
I wanted an E3Dv6 but now that I can't print any of the fittings it's not really possible. I was thinking about getting the replacement head from XYZ but paying $100 for something that I will have to hack up and won't work as well as an E3D really sucks.
Also Is the extruder listed under the 1.0a parts really the newer PLA compatible / 1.1 extruder?

Has anyone replaced the heater cartridge itself? I haven't been able to find anything about that anywhere

Thanks so much

Re: Da Vinci head options

you could try to order a print of the parts from anyone around you by using 3Dhubs and locate a local 3D printer.

If you know which one you want you could probably get somebody here to print it simply by asking. They may charge a small fee but then again maybe not. I would but my machine is still in process of being tuned after having the main board swapped out.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Da Vinci head options

Thanks for the info about 3D hubs!
I am going to order some heater cartridges hoping to save some money and see if it works out. If not it's going to be a E3D
