Topic: Print is splitting

After the print finishes it starts to split apart. What does that mean? Filament or operator.
  thanks

You will need to post your settings you are using and maybe an image of your object.

What speed did you print at?

Re: Print is splitting

Not sure what speed. Just the default speed. I never change it.
The biggest crack I tried to superglue but didn't work.

Re: Print is splitting

I am guessing those walls are reasonably thick and nearly solid? If it does not need to be water tight or with stand force the reduce your infill to 20%. What you are seeing is stress cracks due to uneven cooling.  You need to keep the overall temp of the object the same so it can cool evenly.

Another thing to try if you are running other than stock software is to raise your temp to get a better layer bond. Try 5 to 10 degrees higher.

Re: Print is splitting

I put it at 25% infill. Heres what I printed. Also as you can tell Im new to this. All my prints are easy to brake. Is that just ABS? Is PLA better?

Re: Print is splitting

So are you using Simplify 3d? I get the impression you are not running XYZware since you can change settings. Printed objrcts should not be too easy to break. Sounds like your temperature is too low to me. Set it for 235 and try another print.

Usually 3rd party filament requires temps of 230 or more. Only XYZ stock is specially made to work at 190 to 210.

Re: Print is splitting

Is it possible that your filament spool was badly rolled and cause it to hardly unroll while printing ?

That would cause a layer shift due to it restricting head movement. It would not cause seperation. Thr only that causes this is poor adhesion or uneven cooling.

On a DaVinci opening or leaving the door open on such a print could also cause whats pictured.

Re: Print is splitting

I got splitting like that trying to print a tall box-like object. For me, raising the temp of the hot end from my previous 205 up to 215 seemed to make the layer adhesion better and the splitting stopped happening (this was with my solidoodle 2 and a closed case to keep the temps uniform).
