Topic: A question for DaVinci and Simplfy3D users.

I was looking on their website and thinking of jumping in as well. My question is they sell it for $140 per license.  By license do they mean per PC or per printer? I run my Da Vinci and Delta from the same laptop and would like to be able to buy one copy of S3D but run both ptinters on that copy. At separate times of course.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

You can install your licensed copy on multiple computers.  I have mine installed on 2 computers, each controlling 2 printers.

Re: A question for DaVinci and Simplfy3D users.

Here's the answer from the License Agreement for mine (see the Red):

1. DEFINITIONS

"You" or "Your" as used herein means the person or company who is being licensed to use the Software, as defined below.

"Software" means all computer programs and documentation related to the Simplify3D Software by Simplify3D, which focuses on creating a complete integrated 3D printing toolchain from a single unified application.

"Term" shall be perpetual unless terminated in accordance with the terms of this Agreement or by mutual consent of the parties.

"User Seats" equals two (2).

3. LICENSE GRANT

Simplify3D hereby grants to You a non-exclusive, non-transferable limited license to install and utilize the Software on a concurrent user basis for the Term.  You may install the software on multiple computers that You own equal to the number of User Seats purchased by You.

Mac OSX ElCapitan
Prusa i3 (two built from kits), 1 hacked DaVinci
Solidworks for models, Netfabb to repair, Repetier/Slic3r and Simplify3D

So in a nut shell you may only install on two computers but xould run any number of machines on those two computers. So one copy would be fine for my use.

I don't know what you are allowed to do, but you can open multiple instances on a single PC.  You have a window of processes and that selects which post config to use.  Its slick, when set up correctly you don't need to know what machine it is.  I tried it on the ramps board tonight and it worked almost the same as the da vinci, except for drip feeding the NC rather than dumping the whole program and letting it run off line.

I want to say you can but not 100% sure. On S3D there is a list to choose which printer you have to configure the setting. So you should be able to switch between printers.

Da Vinci  AiO with firmware 1.1.1 using xyzscan 1.1.18
E3Dv6 hotend with custom carriage with Borosilicate glass bed
123D Design and Simplify3D, Replaced PS with a Solidgear Flex320
Zerokart resetter,  Installed a Extruder Controller for higher temps

When I wrote this reply I didn't see any other reply on this thread. (Lagging) so I gave the best answer I had and yes you were clear.
