Topic: Plugged Extruder and Not Heating
I wanted to finish using some black xyz filament so I pulled out the Shaxon, put in the xyz but forgot to decrease the extrude temp from 230 to 215 - I won’t make that mistake again! ![]()
It melted the filament and plugged-up the entire feed pipe. I removed it, soaked it in acetone for an hour then started picking out the chunks. Needed to heat it with torch while running a drill bit into the pipe. All clean and assembled now.
Then, the extruder would not heat. I pushed the wires firmly into the connector and now printing with xyz filament (@ 215 deg).
Those connectors / contacts (or wiring) are not up to snuff. I actually designed connectors and have patents on some - so, I can say from experience that it’s usually not the connector but the wrong connector for the product and/or bad wire/contact connection.
