Most surprising was the 2mil sales figure in year one. I wouldn't think they'd be at that point yet.

i'm hoping this means they are shipping next week
$2 million at $600 a pop is 3,333 printers. Obviously some of that is spare parts (ha!) and filament, but still impressive.
Wonder what their actual profit is so far

Me too.

Well probably about a quarter or more of that is total labor cost and as for parts materials a little harder to figure but even if it was keystone that would leave 500K... but the real number is a lot less because of all the other costs of doing business borrowing interest, fees, fines, payoff's(NY), etc...
and the 2mil. is a some is up front money (I guess) since was taken in 2012 and going out 2013 but then again I don't know their fiscal range or a lot of other details... so this is just shooting in the dark and probably wrong ![]()
Anyways I hope they are making a decent profit because that is what allows a business to grow and continue making advances and improvements to the products they make. ![]()
I agree ronsii, I don't mean anything bad towards solidoodle. They got a good product and a great chance to reach people that maybe couldn't afford replicators or other machines. The community here alone is worth going with solidoodle, we might be small, but we are growing. Hell we even have the first dual extruder sd2, I'm just glad to be part of it honestly.
very good news.
hopefully they can stay competitive moving forward.
hopefully inspiring some upgrades ![]()
