Hi All,
If I recall from watching videos of others using their solidoodle press to print, the z limit probe is supposed to move up and down automatically am I right? Somehow my z limit probe does not work automatically and I have to manually press the switch down everytime during leveling or the bed will crash into the printer head... any idea why my z limit probe isn't moving up and down automatically?
I do not own a Press, but read through this for starters...it does discuss the functioning of the probe. As I understand it relies on a feature on the frame to extend:

It does seem that you need to home X/Y first and then home Z for it to work properly.
Make sure your cable isn't getting trapped between your extruder carriage and the left hand side of the printer casing. The z probe extends when the little circular column on the side of it hits the left side of the casing. If something gets between the carriage and the printer (usually the cable), the little column doesn't catch on the frame, so the probe doesn't drop down.

+1. To be sure, you can tie the wires near the probe with something (I dont know how its called in english), just to make sure the wire wich comes from the Zprobe doesnt get in the way. Make sure this wire its strenghten (this means is closed to the extruder block and not loosed around it).
