Topic: Extend build platform?

I've been thinking theres quite a bit of room on the right side of the glass.  Would it be possible to just get a bigger build plate and have a bigger print size to the right?

Technically, yes, you can do this but you will only get about an extra 33mm on the X axis, nothing more on the Y axis.
I know it seems like there is more room, but the extruder head can only go so before it hits the end of the smooth rods and hits home.


Additionally, the bed frame would need to be modified (It has a lip on it) Or the entire bed frame would need to be replaced.
Leveling would be a bit more tricky, as the leveling screws would no longer be centered or on the right back corner, This component could also get replaced, but I am not sure what you would use to do this.
Additionally, The Z axis would no longer be balanced. This may or may not be a big deal depending on what mods you use (Screw rod support)
