Topic: Bed heater only going to 30c suddenly

Hey all, I've been happily printing away for months now...short and long (20min to 20hrs) , big and small.  Finished a 4hr print this morning, no issues.  Twelve hrs later changed color cart...had to re seat the cart a few times before the unit saw it, no biggie it happens some times....loaded up some files and sent to printer fine.
Bed raised, extruder heated to 220c, but the bed only heated to 30c then drifted between 29 and 30 for a while until I canceled the print.
Rebooted everything and tried a new file...same deal ...bed heated to 29 and drifted between 28 and 29 until I gave up.
I have a support ticket in as the unit is only 4 months old.
Any insight from other users would be appreciated.

Several people have reported that one of the traces near the point the wires solder on have burned through and some reported the solder joint has broken on the bed heater. Take of the glass, flip it over and inspect the traces and solder joint well.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

The four corner clips that the head uses for auto level is all that holds the glass in place. Remove them and the glass lifts out with heater wires attached.

Thanks, I watched a video but that was a 1.0 with screws, mine has spring clips...was hoping that I just needed to apply pressure but I think I have to remove the actual retaining clips and catch the spring when it lets loose...
Well the tiny clips come off easy enough, fun finding them, the pins themselves are not under any pressure once the clip is off.

You are right about the wire coming off as this has also happened to mine yesterday.
The question is how do I reattached the wire.
I tried to resolder the wire back to the plate however it will not stick.

Does this require a special solder?
I have seen a conductive glue on the market, would that work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The glue is not made for temp the area reaches. As for soldering it is plastic so it must be spot soldered at very high speed to avoid damage to the plastic. Not something you can do by hand. You will need to have the bed replaced which consist of all the stuff above the levelers. There is also just the glass boro glass that is and heater with wires assembled on ebay. That one is made by a user here and uses much better glass that is tempered.

I got the pins out and the side clips off no problem...something is still holding all this down.

I can lift the glass but it is still held at the back by either A or B

Im not sure if A screw (star head) has to come out then it all comes off easy.
If you look at B closely, the shrink tube is over some plastic that is part of the under bed (the leveler platform?) well, the frame that holds the glass anyway.

As for the other wires it looks like a different setup from da vinci 1.0

Mine are actually soldered underneath the plate.

From what Carl_m1968 has told me I am completely screwed and will have to replace the whole lot.
