Topic: Press Filament Orders

Just wondered if anyone has received their orders for Press compatible filament spools. I ordered 6 different colours when I ordered my Press. Had the printer for 6 weeks or so, and no sign of the filament. I emailed support and was told that the filament would be shipping within a few days of the 9th of March. Still nothing. I emailed them to cancel and will order some Shaxon ABS from Fry's. Half the price and supposedly better quality. Bit pathetic to be selling printers with a proprietary spool, but not stocking them.

Anyway, at least it's an easy mod to use other spools with the Press. From what I've heard about Solidoodle filament since I placed the order, maybe this was a good thing!

So did anyone get hold of Press filament?

no got the press no plastic---ordered extra on ebay--got that. now muddling thru support emails--they sent me replacement wire but no instructions to do the surgery.I don't get it.

I've ordered filament from other manufacturers, but still kept my Solidoodle order in since they gave me a free roll. If you complain, you can probably do the same. Yes, you can find cheaper filament, but the difference is likely marginal for good filament that doesn't have issues.

I cancelled and got a refund. If the filament they sell is the same as the filament that shipped with the Press, then I really don't want any more of it tbh. The stuff I ordered came from Australia within a week, and it's producing quality prints.

Just like what they do with the printers Solidoodle will take your money then order it from China. So at least 8 weeks + backorder line.

Bear in mind that shipping will cost a lot. I live in the Middle East, so I have to factor in shipping whoever I buy from, so it makes little difference to me.

I also ordered from Fry's, and that order is due to be delivered today. I haven't used the filament before, but I've been told it's good stuff.

Yes, it was shipped separately in late Feb or early March.

*shrug* I did that when I ordered it thinking there was not going to be an easy way to mount a spool holder on the exterior of the printer. I am not heh pressed to get it. I have a healthy supply of filament. So when they arrive it will be truly a surprise.

Yes, same as me. I ordered about 5 spools so that I could reuse the spools with other filament. Once I realised how easy it was to use other brands, I just ordered that instead. Very happy with the filament I got instead. I'm getting some really impressive prints now.

Wow! At last!

I'd be interested to hear what you think of the filament quality.
