Topic: Calibration Calibration and more Calibration

Well I have managed to get the calibration done, I used the android app which I found really good. I then followed the manual calibration posted on here and low and behold managed to do a print! The only problem I have now is I have do a manual calibration for every print, as soon as the bed is lowered it looses its calibration is this correct or is something wrong with my machine? getting a bit concerned that the constant switching off of the machine is going to damage it!
Can any body advise me as to the ideal gap between the extruder and the plate, I am setting it manually at .02 which just about allows a bit of gap in the middle of the plate as it is warped. I have to be careful of the position of the print to try and avoid the high spot on the plate if I get close to middle the print fails as the extruder is to close to the plate and wont lay the 1st layer down, equally if I manually adjust to get a .15 gap in the middle the gap on the outsides is to great and the 1st layer will not stick.
This machine is a huge learning curve, but bit by bit starting to get there, any advise would be appreciated.

You should not have to change it that much.  Maybe a tweak here and there after 4-5 prints.  What temp and bed temp are you printing at?

How are you determining it is loosing its calibration?  Can you visually see it is off?  Is the gap between the extruder and bed to large/small?  Or is the bed uneven?

Not sure on the temps, I did not know you could adjust them?

Another problem has started. it keeps on loosing its connection to the pc, I have changed the cable and still the same.

The bed has a bevel in the centre, I have to try and get a compromise between the middle and the edges, as an example it will print the test strips fine but will not print in the centre as the nozzle is making contact with the bed.

I can understand if the glass bed isn't perfectly flat.  But you said that it looses its calibration after each print.  So you are saying the flatness, or lack of flatness, is changing between prints?

No its the height of the plate that keeps changing its almost like the lift motor is missing a step but it does it randomly. Plus as well the scan does not work (just found this out)

I have contacted support with no reply, so I contacted the seller and they said they would change it the printer for me.
