Topic: Solidoodle Support Nowhere to be found

Guys

I've had to report a burnt out print bed for RMA to solidoodle support, however I was told I should call them back to figure out when they would ship out the part for the printer.

However NO ONE ever answers. I've called 8 times since last wednesday and no one has ever answered again. Multiple calls at different times of day (during office hours).

Now I can't seem to get a hold of anyone from Solidoodle support anymore.

this is really souring things up for me because after the massive delays to have the printer delivered, now I can't get a simple replacement shipped or followed up on at all?

Anyone know what the best way to get a hold of them is? (i've put in my ticket, I've email and called)

Re: Solidoodle Support Nowhere to be found

All you can do is wait basically. That's why I quit bothering with SD support and took matters into my own hands. You can get heatbeds pretty cheap on eBay, have a look. A lot of people have been seeing issues with the press heatbed burning up.

It seems like it's a gamble whether or not your replacement will do the same thing. You can get a much more reliable replacement. MacGuyverX has upgraded his bed heater I believe so have a look at his post history. Hope this helps.

Considering how difficult it is to get ahold of Solidoodle support, I hope you aren't worried about your warranty wink

Re: Solidoodle Support Nowhere to be found

I'm not spending a single cent more on this thing. It has to be covered by Solidoodle and I'll keep bugging them until it works how its supposed to.

Its absolutely ridiculous that as consumers we have to cater to these kinds of companies and that our recourse has to be to spend more money to get this thing working the way its supposed to.

I can't even return this thing because the shipping alone will be incredibly high. Importing this thing into canada cost me 122 dollars, which I'll never get back even if they refund me.

I appreciate the added information however I'm going to call them and hassle them until they follow through with what I paid for.

I sent a message to all their known emails and posted to their facebook and got a callback immediately.

They will be sending a completely new printer and I'll be sending mine back, with costs refunded for shipping.

I'm not sure that will be possible.  Even if they resolve the manufacturing issues (loose or missing screws, loose belts, poorly adjusted electronics, etc), there are too many design flaws (overheating extruder, no clip to prevent the extruder wires breaking, extruder fan insufficient for PLA, design causing filament to pull on print head which leads to poor adhesion, etc) for this to work well as advertised without significant modification, which I don't see solidoodle as doing.
Good luck with the replacement printer though.  Nice to know they are refunding shipping.  :-)
