Random Pauses when Printing with Rep 92

Hello,

About a week ago I decided to flash my printer with .92Rep and at first it was great.

I still use simplify3d as the supports are better in my opinion and easier to get off the print once finished.

A couple days later I noticed that the print would pause at certain intervals because the buffer emptied. I increased the buffer size in Simplify, and this resolved that issue.

A new issue started soon after. I have my system set up to heat the bed to 90C, then heat the extruder to 230C. I was finding that the bed would heat up, but it never started heating up the extruder. I would have to set the extruder temp on the printer settings to get a print to start.

I got tired of this and started to just upload the GCODE files to the SD card and print from the printer settings. This makes me think the issue may be due to a connection issue. I use the USB cable that came with the printer and the default settings (baud rate, etc.) But I lost some of the cooler features like print head updates on my screen and such.

Has anyone else experienced this?
